Gwondana Photography / Australian Photography Tours
G' Day, welcome to our website.
Gwondana Photography Pty. Ltd is a boutique family business also known under the name Australian Photography Tours.
My father introduced me to photography in the 50's. His gift to me was the love of photography with my first camera , a Kodak Brownie 127. Cameras don't come much more basic that that!
In the past I travelled to many parts of the world including Europe, Middle East, Canada and parts of the US.
I arrived in Australia as an immigrant in 1977 from England and never went back. I was overawed by the vast distances, colour, flora and fauna. My country of birth the UK will fit into New South Wales three and a half times and it is one of the smaller States in Australia.
Later I combined my two great loves; bush walking with nature and landscape photography to create Australian Photography Tours.
These days our main focus is on Sydney and surrounds. Sydney is a city which grew "higgeldy - piggeldy" out of necessity after the first settlement.
This lack of organisation has helped create the city's charm.
Personal and customised tours
Every tour, or workshop from four hours to four days is personalised for you or your group. We are very much a boutique photography / tour family business.
Specialising in photography tuition, tours and private photography sessions, our walks through Old Sydney produce surprises around every corner in the alleyways, ginnels ( a north of England term for small lanes/ passageways) old buildings and harbour panoramas.
Honeymooners new to Sydney ,will be able to take home lovely memories by booking a walking tour with a private photography session.
Cruise ship passengers and crew with little time in Sydney will love the Sydney Walks with photography opportunities.
NSW Country, Coast and the Blue Mountains
We venture further afield , for those with more time to explore , to our long term favourite locations in the famous Blue Mountains, Sydney's Royal National Park, the New South Wales Southern Highlands and the South Pacific coast, almost as far as the Victorian border.
The MacArthur Region, famed for its history of Merino Sheep, and the Southern Highlands are also on our programme for Winter workshop when the mist swirls around the old sandstone buildings and the eateries have their open fires burning.
Photography classes and tuition
Travellers love to take memories back to their home towns and cities. Unfortunately, those memories can soon fade. We offer our clients guidance or photography tuition which covers devices from Mobile Phones to DSLR so that they can capture wonderful scenes which help them to remember their holiday of a lifetime.
People ask me if I take tours overseas. The answer is NO! There is too much to see in my state of New South Wales let alone Australia.
We run classes and tours from three hours to three days, our objective is to give you an experience you will never forget. Quality photography with little to no editing is our goal ensuring your memories remain with you long after fleeting memories have faded.
The words "I have just been given a camera" or "I am arriving in Sydney, can you help me"? are music to my ears. New people offer me a chance to meet people from all over Australia and the world.
Taking visitors on tours of our city of Sydney and the State of New South Wales, allows me to show you areas that I love, and I hope that you too will come to love Sydney and New South Wales.
